AI integration is no longer just an API question.

In 2026, teams are trying to connect models to data sources, internal tools, approval steps, and human review. That means the real design problem is not “how do we call an LLM?” It is “how do we fit AI into a system that people can trust and operate?”

Pattern 1: AI as an assistant inside an existing workflow

This is the most practical starting point.

Examples:

  • draft a support reply, then let a human send it
  • summarize meeting notes, then let a lead review them
  • generate a first-pass report, then export it into a normal approval flow

This pattern works because it improves speed without forcing the team to rebuild its process.

Pattern 2: connected AI over internal knowledge

This pattern becomes important when answers depend on company context.
